We are excited to announce that the new Operation Resilient Planet can be pre-ordered and paid in Australian orders through us. Although older JASON curriculum will still need to be purchased directly from JASON in the US.

Note: Conference attendees can receive their curriculum at the conference (please use conference registration form if this is the case). Otherwise curriculum will begin shipping 27th October.

Operation: Resilient Planet will take students to Earth's critical ecosystems to investigate nature’s strategies for regeneration, learn ecosystem management by taking on the roles of researchers and policymakers, understand pressures from human induced changes and recognize their responsibility for defending biodiversity. Some of the issues covered in Operation: Resilient Planet are:

  • Defend endangered Lakes from the threat of invasive species.
  • Help protect coral reefs with Dr. Robert Ballard, discoverer of RMS Titanic and National Geographic Society (NGS) Explorer-in-Residence.
  • Work to restore Chesapeake Bay with Dr. Sylvia Earle, another NGS Explorer-in-Residence.
  • Study whale behavior with NOAA Ocean Acoustics Specialist Leila Hatch to help them recover from the brink of extinction.

Operation: Monster Storms

ORDERING NOW OPEN

Operation: Monster Storms will transport classrooms to the center of Earth's most extreme weather events. You will join some of the world's leading weather researchers in the field to study the mechanics of weather in an exciting, outcomes-based, multimedia curriculum developed with NASA, NOAA and National Geographic. Designed for grades 5-8 (but with the flexibility for teachers to adapt to higher/lower levels), the curriculum focuses on connecting students with great explorers and great events through:

  • Hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms and lightning
  • Weather dynamics and storm formation
  • Forecasting, warnings and safety precautions
  • Extreme weather impact and human interaction
  • Climate and global monitoring
